WRAITH FEST LINEUP
Gehtika
Blackened Death Metal
10:00 - 10:50pm
Hailing from Coventry, the spiffing gentlemen of Gehtika purvey only the finest orchestral-tinged blackened death metal. They are currently touring the release of their latest EP, The Great Reclamation, which obliterated its Kickstarter goals in a matter of hours. Having previously won Metal 2 the Masses in Birmingham and appeared at Bloodstock, with numerous other festival appearances and nation-wide tours under their belt, they are one of the fastest-rising extreme metal bands in the UK. As headliners, they will be closing Wraith Fest with a 50-minute extreme metal onslaught which is sure to be packed full of theatrical madness!
Countless Skies
Melodic Death Metal
8:50 - 9:40pm
With their bleak and yet simultaneously uplifting brand of Finnish-influenced melodic death metal, it's no surprise that Hertfordshire's Countless Skies have been compared to the likes of Insomnium and Omnium Gatherum. The band's name, inspired by a Be'lakor song, also hints at a progressive dimension which is fully apparent on their 2016 debut album, New Dawn. Having garnered international acclaim for their debut and wowed at Bloodstock Festival following winning the Luton Metal 2 the Masses competition in 2015, they have begun to stake a foothold on the continent with their first overseas appearance at Darktroll Festival in Germany this summer. Countless Skies will co-headline Wraith Fest with a 50-minute set.
The Mighty Wraith
Heavy Metal
7:50 - 8:30pm
Wraith Fest hosts The Mighty Wraith spring from the heavy metal heartland of Birmingham, with their imposing yet melodic brand of traditional heavy metal paying a firm debt of gratitude to the British classics, but they have built their name based on an intensely powerful and engaging live show which resonates with an energy and identity all of the band's own making. Bloodstock Festival performers in 2015, the band began anew in 2016 as a four-piece, delivering their first recorded material in more than three years in the form of the Outcast EP, and landing high-profile shows with the likes of Armored Saint and Power Quest for 2017.
Vice
Heavy Metal
6:50 - 7:30pm
Manchester metal band Vice have built their sound atop a foundation of pulsating riffs and explosive fretboard heroics inspired by the likes of Machine Head and Megadeth. Having only just released their long-awaited debut album The First Chapter, which is based on the seven deadly sins, they are currently touring the country with their blistering live show, including a Leicester show with The Mighty Wraith in May. Following on from an electric Bloodstock Festival performance last year and with numerous other festival appearances set for 2017, these modern heavy metal heroes definitely need to be kept on radar.
